AACR Events and Activities

The 8th Annual RJ Hogga Foundation Charity Golf Tournament took place on June 11, 2021, at Landis Creek Golf Club. There were 123 participants who raised $10,000 for the AACR. Pictured (left to right): Jacki Hogga, Kathleen Hogga, Bob Hogga, Jonathan Hogga.

AACR Runner for Research Steve Kirkwood raised more than $2,800 by running his first marathon in February 2021. Kirkwood ran in honor of his grandfather and two cousins who have been touched by cancer. 

AACR Runners for Research marathon runners assembled for a team photo before the AACR Philadelphia Marathon on November 21, 2021. More than $404,000 was raised for the AACR by 285 AACR Runners for Research participating in all races during the weekend.

In July 2021, Battle Cancer and the AACR kicked off their partnership at the 2021 CrossFit Games in Madison, Wisconsin. Fifty workouts were completed to highlight the AACR Foundation’s FIFTY for FIFTY initiative, raising more than $1,900 to support the AACR’s lifesaving mission. In October 2021, Jose Pepper’s Mexican Restaurant chain hosted a fundraiser at all 14 of its locations, selling pink fried ice cream for Breast Cancer Awareness Month and raising more than $10,000 for the AACR. 

Play to End Cancer Inequities, the Players vs. Cancer’s (PvC) weeklong fundraiser to support minority cancer scientists, ran September 13-19, 2021, and raised more than $8,500.
